School's in Session

It is official, my boys have entered into the 8th and 9th grade!  If you follow me at all, you know that we are a homeschool family!  This year we have decided to attend some classes twice a week at a local homeschool co-op.  Today feels slightly bittersweet.  Where has the time gone?  How do I have a highschooler?  Just yesterday, I was chasing toddlers around the house, savoring cuddles and praying for a moment of rest!  Today, I dropped them off, waved goodbye, and trusted they were well cared for.  Time is slippery.

Some of you are reminiscing with me.  Your children are either in High School, off to College, or even grown, possibly with families of their own.  Others of you are in the throws of motherhood with screaming toddlers and the best hugs and kisses you will ever get on this side of heaven!  Life is funny, it is ever changing.  Our role as a woman varies from one season to the next.

What season do you find yourself in?  Are you content in your current season?  The Lord continues to speak to me with this passage found in Philippians 4:6-7, "Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand."  If there is one thing that is certain it is that seasons will change and before we know it Christmas will be here, then the new year!  Our children will be another year older, they will be a little more independent, and you will soon enter into a new season of life!

My challenge to you is to find peace in the season you are in.  Savor the moments that will indeed fade away.  Don't allow the enemy to steal your peace and joy in this season, because it is a season you won't get to enjoy again.  God has a plan for you right where you are.  What are you hearing him say?  Fix your thoughts on the things that are above, take five minutes to step outside and feel the sunshine on your face, and thank the Lord for all that he has done!
